Oldest Gharana of Hindustani Music


Gwalior Gharana is the oldest gharanas of Hindustani Music, it is one of the oldest Khyal Gharana. There are many Gharans that actually originated from Gwalior Gharana. Nathan Peer Baksh and Nathe Khan were the two people who founded Gwalior Gharana the 16th century. 
In the image below : Son of the legendary Pt. Krishnarao Shankar Pandit and is currently the seniormost representative of the Gwalior gharana of khayal. Now over 70, he continues to perform and teach students like his own daughter Meeta Pandit.

Launching Music Club ABHIVYAKTEE @ SGI

Today with an apace uprising economy , as India emerges as the preferred destination for leading MNC investments in IT, Software, Telecom, R&D, Automobile & Components, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Pharma & several offshore and outsourced operations, the "Knowledge based" and "Process Driven" Organizations become the norm, and the demand for knowledge workers, team leaders and managers is increasing at a phenomenal rate.

The Sharda Educational Trust was therefore formed as an educational initiative in response to the emerging trends, by a group of leaders from industry, trade, business and academia with an affirm objective of providing "Professional Education to meet Global Challenges".

The Trust started off with it’s first venture in 1996 by establishing “Hindustan College of Science and Technology", located on the National Highway #2 between Agra and Mathura with a Student Strength of 60 and now has expanded to run fourteen colleges from four campuses with a strength of 21000 students, collectively termed as Sharda Group of Institutions (SGI).

SGI Colleges are held in repute by the corporate world of trade & industry and increasingly more & more front running companies are sourcing their entry level professional manpower needs from these colleges.

No wonder that the group is expanding almost @ 25% annually thus becoming the fastest growing group of educational institution; a growth driven by the trust in its promised performances and best practices.

We are proud to be a part of SGI & hereby announce the launch of MUSIC CLUB -DHUN at SGI.This club is launched on 1st september 2010 under the immense guidance of Mr.Anupam Sorabh(EVP,SGI) & Mr. Dimpy Mishra(Cultural Head,SGI).

d Our Vision is to promote & spread the Indian art & Culture around the Globe by encouraging the creativity & innovation of the prospects in the field of MUSIC.
