Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA) is the first award function organized in India totally dedicated to music industry, which had its inaugural edition yesterday on November 10. It was a huge reunion of lots of legendary singers, musicians, lyricists and definitely the Bollywood stars.


Bollywood's singing legend Lata Mangeshkar was presented with the lifetime achievement award at the Chevrolet Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA) By her sister Asha Bhosle.

Among all the shining stars, Dabangg star Salman Khan was one of the biggest attractions, who performed from his blockbuster film and thousands cheered for him.

His co-star Sonakshi Sinha was not left behind and she also took on the stage to entertain the gathering. Speaking on the occasion, Salman said that music is the utmost important factor for Indian cinema and it feels great to be part of such an award function that honors the musicians for their contributions.

According to Salman, whenever a film is made, music is the first thing that is shown to the viewers so it acts like the face of any movie. He added that films cannot probably do without music because they are the soul of most of the films. So, the musicians and the singers deserve to be treated with great respect in the industry.

Apart from Salman, others stars like Kareena Kapoor, Rietesh Deshmukh and Sonakshi Sinha also graced the event. Actors Shreyas Talpade and Dia Mirza hosted the award event along with filmmaker Sajid Khan.

Some of the legendary names of the Indian music industry like the Awards Goodwill Ambassador Asha Bhosle, Shankar Mahadevan, Ustad Rashid Khan, Shaan, Pt. Vishva Mohan Bhatt, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal and Salim-Suleiman were present at this great musical award function

Oldest Gharana of Hindustani Music


Gwalior Gharana is the oldest gharanas of Hindustani Music, it is one of the oldest Khyal Gharana. There are many Gharans that actually originated from Gwalior Gharana. Nathan Peer Baksh and Nathe Khan were the two people who founded Gwalior Gharana the 16th century. 
In the image below : Son of the legendary Pt. Krishnarao Shankar Pandit and is currently the seniormost representative of the Gwalior gharana of khayal. Now over 70, he continues to perform and teach students like his own daughter Meeta Pandit.

Launching Music Club ABHIVYAKTEE @ SGI

Today with an apace uprising economy , as India emerges as the preferred destination for leading MNC investments in IT, Software, Telecom, R&D, Automobile & Components, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Pharma & several offshore and outsourced operations, the "Knowledge based" and "Process Driven" Organizations become the norm, and the demand for knowledge workers, team leaders and managers is increasing at a phenomenal rate.

The Sharda Educational Trust was therefore formed as an educational initiative in response to the emerging trends, by a group of leaders from industry, trade, business and academia with an affirm objective of providing "Professional Education to meet Global Challenges".

The Trust started off with it’s first venture in 1996 by establishing “Hindustan College of Science and Technology", located on the National Highway #2 between Agra and Mathura with a Student Strength of 60 and now has expanded to run fourteen colleges from four campuses with a strength of 21000 students, collectively termed as Sharda Group of Institutions (SGI).

SGI Colleges are held in repute by the corporate world of trade & industry and increasingly more & more front running companies are sourcing their entry level professional manpower needs from these colleges.

No wonder that the group is expanding almost @ 25% annually thus becoming the fastest growing group of educational institution; a growth driven by the trust in its promised performances and best practices.

We are proud to be a part of SGI & hereby announce the launch of MUSIC CLUB -DHUN at SGI.This club is launched on 1st september 2010 under the immense guidance of Mr.Anupam Sorabh(EVP,SGI) & Mr. Dimpy Mishra(Cultural Head,SGI).
